Eyebrow
“Hair simulation” is a technique by which tattoo strokes are impregnated into the skin to simulate natural hair growth instead of an eyebrow pencil “painted-on” look. Color combinations can be done for a more subtle or enhanced effect.
Come to your procedure appointment with your eyebrows drawn on exactly as you wish them to remain permanently. Color and shape will be matched. I will be happy to draw your eyebrow shape for you, if you are not sure how you want them to look. We will spend as much time as is needed to decide that the shape we have drawn is right for you.
Experiment with your brow-line before your procedure. If you aren’t sure just how you want your eyebrows to look, experiment with different shapes and colors by asking a beauty consultant at the make-up counter of a store where you shop to help you. Wear your eyebrow shape differently for a day or two. You will be most satisfied with the final results if you are sure you like what you see when you’ve used the eyebrow pencil. Remember that the shape you choose will be permanent and can be altered very little with touch-up.
You will be scheduled for a touch-up appointment, at no extra charge, for 6 to 8 weeks after your initial treatment. You have a 3 month period in which to get your touch-up and complete your procedure. There will be a charge for touch-ups, at the brochure rates, after your two initial appointments. Any touch-up for work not originally done in this office will be charged at the full fee, regardless of how much work needs to be done.
Eyebrow After-care
The amount of swelling or bruising after your procedure will depend on how sensitive your skin is and on how it accepts the pigment. The color will be darker initially because of the surface stain of the pigment in addition to the pigment in your skin. The color will fade 30-40% within a week to 10 days.
Do not swim, sunbathe, hot tub, sauna, or use a tanning booth until your skin has healed. Remember that you have an open wound and you are susceptible to infection until your skin has healed. Restrict your activities such as heavy cleaning with caustic agents, gardening, recreational water activities, or contact with animals for the duration of restrictions. Be careful when handling diapers or caring for the elderly. For the first two days only, put Vaseline over your eyebrows to keep them from forming scabs. Prolonged use of Vaseline is not necessary, and will cause itchiness in most people, due to the petroleum ingredient.
Minor signs and symptoms of infection could include, but are not limited to: redness, swelling, warmth of treated area, and tenderness at the procedure site. These are also normal results from treatment. Major signs and symptoms of infection could include elevated body temperature, purulent drainage from the procedure site, red strikes radiating from the procedure site towards the heart, pain radiating from the procedure site towards the heart, or pain radiating from the site. These are symptoms that indicate you should seek immediate medical care.
Do not rub or traumatize them or use any cosmetics or creams on the tattooed area for 3 days. Most products will fade a newly tattooed color. Do not touch, pick, or peel any scabs or crust on the treated area. The newly applied pigment can come off along with the scab. If crusting appears, you may soak them with a wet washcloth and gently remove the crust with a q-tip.
You will be scheduled for a touch-up appointment 6-8 weeks after your initial procedure. Remember that you cannot anticipate your final results until after that touch-up session.
